About the Artist
Charlotte Marie is our newest and youngest artist in the gallery. A self-taught painter from Sydney Australia, Charlotte now lives in Colorado where she works as both a Professional Fine Artist and a Creative Consultant for Businesses drawing on her 13 years experience in strategic branding.
Across both oil and mixed-medium artworks, in abstracted and figurative form, she offers richly textured and thoughtful paintings which truly take their audience into another world.
Inspired by the everyday that takes place around her, she creates compositions that reveal only so much of reality, and uses color, context and symbolism to bring the unspoken to life. Sometimes this is done through a single painting, at other times it is fragmented across a few. Her work is privately owned by collectors in Australia, America and Europe. She is also a published illustrator & author in the children's book category.
"For me, art has always been about capturing something which has the capacity to move you. What moves me is the complexity, intricacy and beauty of our stories. This becomes so interesting when choosing to capture its depth (or simplicity) through a static medium. I have a particular soft spot for the unspoken feeling. I so often find that emotion is what makes us feel unattractive and overly complex, but in truth the vulnerability of it reveals a beauty far beyond the posed, the fake and the perfect."
