Carol started working in ceramics in 2004 while in high school and continued her education
at the local community college in Cheyenne, WY.
From the beginning, Carol enjoyed working with slabs of clay and has grown to love the asymmetrical, sometimes funky, shapes produced by hand building. In time, she found a clay that fired with an interesting, mottled surface when left unglazed.
Working with raw clay surface, she started to develop an interest in surface decoration eventually leading to the carefully carved designs on her work today. She has always loved anything vintage or old, especially furniture, cars, houses, and clothing from the 1950s.
While Carol was developing her surface design process, she fully embraced a Mid-Century Modern aesthetic and started creating whimsical little scenes full of her favorite items.
